Horizon Shutters began in 1979 as The Shutter
Shop in Springfield, Missouri. For nearly 20 years we sold and
installed interior window shutters for thousands of homes and commercial
buildings in the Midwest.
In 1997, we broadened our scope and became the first company to
sell custom made interior window shutters exclusively and nationwide
on the Internet. Thousands of sales later, we enjoy a reputation
as the leader in our industry and a model that others seek to copy.
Every member of our staff has logged hundreds of hours measuring,
building, finishing, and installing shutters - and we use this expertise
to answer all questions you may have about shutters.

In 2000, ShutterLand Interior Shutters was started to sell limited styles and popular stock sizes of the same quality shutters as unfinished panels only. This was in response to requests from builders and do-it-yourself homeowners who wanted a reliable source for quality wood interior shutter panels that they could fabricate into interior units.
In 2003 ShutterLand Exterior Shutters began selling premium-quality louvered exterior wooden shutters in standard sizes. Wooden exterior shutters are constructed from solid incense cedar as individual outdoor fixed louvered shutter panels.
Ready Exterior Shutters, launched in 2007, supplies synthetic outdoor shutters. Styles of vinyl exterior shutters include louvered, board-and-batten, raised panel, shaker, and arch top panels.
We understand the real meaning of the words “quality”, “value”,
