| Horizon indoor shutters are sold as complete
custom-crafted shutter units. All indoor shutters are designed specifically
for your window opening at an affordable price.
Our indoor shutters are built from a solid closed-grain hardwood
called Basswood. Basswood is a very straight wood that machines
and finishes well and results in beautiful indoor shutters. We never
use pressed or veneered wood. All louvers, stiles, rails, and tilt
bars are one solid piece with no finger-joints which may eventually
show through the finish.
Horizon
indoor shutters are sold in two popular styles. Traditional
shutters are 3/4 inch thick using 1-1/4 inch wide movable
louvers. The narrow louver is popular in colonial style or historical
homes. This indoor shutter style is perfect for use in smaller windows,
but can also be a great addition to larger windows. Plantation
shutters are 1-1/8 inch thick using either 2-1/2, 3, 3-1/2,
or 4-1/2 inch louvers. Plantation indoor shutters are popular for
use in all home styles. The larger louvers provide versatile light
control and excellent visibility through the louvers.
Indoor shutters can be installed
to the inside or outside of a window opening, determined by allowable
clearance. We provide detailed measuring
instructions to help determine the best way to attach the
indoor shutters to the window. Our shutters are sold either painted,
stained, or unfinished to match the inside of your house.
We understand that indoor shutters represent a
substantial investment for your home. Our goal is to provide you,
the customer, with all of the information necessary to successfully
order window shutters. The Horizon Shutters web site is designed
to educate viewers about indoor shutters, including style specifications
and how to order. Those questions which the web site does not address
about indoor shutters, we are prepared to answer by telephone
or e-mail. All of our friendly representatives have extensive
experience with, and knowledge about, indoor shutters.
